Paint Matching

What do you guys think of this paint matching? This is a 1951 massey harris 44 and the paint is what is left of the original. It is located in the tub area right next to the engine so this is paint that has not seen light for sixty years and has spent most of those covered in grease and oil. I am posting this because the paint on the tractor appears to be slightly less orange than some of the massey harris paint jobs I have seen. I found a perfect match to the paint on the tractor however I realize that the original may have faded darker than it originally was over the years. Does anyone have experience with this? I look forward to your thoughts. Just to let you know that the paint that matches it is MF-50 which is the new massey red. I had a person state that Rustoleum safety red is a near perfect match to the Omni brand paint code for massey harris red so I got a can and painted a large chunk of metal with it and thought that it was slightly to orange for my liking. I really like the MF-50 color and am going to use it.

Looks good from here and if it suits you I'm pretty sure no one is going to have a pristeen barn kept original with which to compare it to. I'm sure they had no real incentive and probably not the technology to hold = and - tolerances that compare to todays automotive industry. No need splitting hairs because they sure didn't.

The color looks good to me. I think the old paint is slightly darker due to the condition of the paint. I hope you don't mean you plan to paint the tractor with Rustoleum paint. It is not as UV protected as automotive paint and being red is very prone to fade.
