horse drawn case sickle bar mower #5

Hey Keith,
The spring issue of Rural Heritage had an interesting article on the J.I Case companies... J.I. Case Threshing Machine Co, and J.I. Case Plow Works. In it, the author gives a brief history of the two companies Mr Case formed and goes on to discuss equipment each company built and the color schemes used by both. I'm no expert on Case, but based on what I read, I'll assume your mower was built by the plow works. If so, according to the author, "color plates of several other implements show that the Plow Works used red on the frames, levers and tongues, and dark yellow wheels, seats and lettering."
