It isn't perfect but it was reasonably priced. Iirc it was $1500 to fix doors, cab corners and a deer dent. He fixed all the tiny dents as well. He actually said at the shop they try and talk people out of the way Glen spoke of. The way he talked they have different quality packages. [Reply]   [No Email]

Mine is the less prep they do the poorer the job. Mask everything off and the paint will peel along that line, maybe not for a year or two but it will come off. I had a 92 GMC that had a small dent above the bumper. Took it to the GMC dealers body shop and it came back with swirl marks, which could have been removed, which there is no excuse for. They actually masked off a trim strip, I did not know that at the time but a couple of years later it began to peel. MAACO doesn't like to do that because it is more work. There is more to it than standing 6 feet away with a spray gun. I recently backed into a post with my 2005 GMC and did damage in the area behind the tire. I asked if the paint could be masked off in the factory crease between the "quarter panel" behind the wheel and the rest of the pickup box (the whole side has to be clearcoated). He said no because eventually the clear will peel at that point. Maaco may say otherwise, but they are wrong. That small repair including the rear bumper, which was barely damaged cost $1144, my share was $500, but it is perfect. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. In the case of tractors, the same thing goes, the more you remove, the more you prep the better the job. [Reply]  [No Email]
