Clear coat

I know that if you go thru the clear coat on an auto the paint under it is really dull.I painted my tractor and have some dirt and wonder if I sanded it out and I put clear coat over the dulled finish what would the appearance be,shiny or dull?

I would definitely try to find another object, or at least an inconspicuous spot on your tractor, to test it out and see what happens.

Yes you can as long as your clear is compatable with your base material and you haven"t sanded through your base finish.
