Rusty Metal Bits in Tire Bead

Greetings, I bought used tires that must have sat on a wet/rusty rim for years. The tire beads are encrusted with bits of rusty steel from the old rims.

Is there a way to get that rusty steel to un-embed itself from the bead? So far I have been prying it off in small flakes with a screwdriver and a chisel, and it is slow going. Thanks. Dave

Frankly no. Check the tires closely for age cracking. Do not know what you want to put the tires on. For a tractor, get as much of the metal off as possible, use tubes and hope for the best. Good luck----
