I am looking for the code # for gold paint used on an early 1970s International 806 or 856 demonstrator tractor.

Go to the Red Power Forum and ask for Ken Updike, aka Bermuda Ken. Also you can probably find it in the RP archives and possibly this site. You may find the IH code, which might not cross to anything else. You will also find varied answers--good luck.

Don't think gold was on an 806, it was on a few of the later models.

Here is an 826 I photographed at the Florida Flywheeler's show a couple years back....sorry I do not know the paint code

Went to a small tractor show this weekend and a man there had a 1026 Gold. He said he saw a 1026 advertised and seeing as not many were made, he bought it. Some time later, a few spots of the red started flaking off showing gold under. He was not familiar with the gold demonstrators at the time. He told a friend about the strange primer color and the friend got excited, telling him about the history of them. He stripped it and it had the gold in all the right places so he painted it back as it was at first.
