Mud scraper

This morning I decided to take apart this mud scraper that I'll use on my Super M. There was 59 years of dirt and rust metal inside. I'm going to get it sand blasted and put back together, I might actually rebuild it with new metal. Here's a picture what it looks like.

I have a set of those on my JD 34 A and my 35 B (below). I was able to find a couple of NOS sets and they are something you don't often see on other tractors. People often ask what they are.

Those were a pretty common item in the midwest in the 1950 s. We had a few sets on tractors that had to go in the mud .
When restoring our M M 'R' I found a set in Iowa.Brought them home & put them on , have had a few ask what are they & what do they do .clint
