Trailer paint

I have a 16ft. tandem trailer that I am going to sell. It is in good shape, has good brakes and tires. The paint is faded and a little rusty in places. I don't want to put shoddy paint on it but I don't want to invest more than I can recoupe. Any suggestions on what I should pait it with.

I painted a trailer like that in summer 2009 and used All Surface Enamel from Sherwin Williams mixed with Valspar hardener. Except for a few dings the paint looks as good today as when I painted it. It would be best to take the rusty places down to bare metal and prime it.

Faded and a little rusty sounds like a typical trailer. I would leave it alone, dents and broken boards are more important. To do a good job with decent primer and paint will cost you $200+, you won't get that much back.

i agree.. either do a GOOD paint jobn and sink hours and $$ in it.. or leave it and let the new owner do it.

the $$ you sink in will likely NOT be collected when you sell it..
