Picklex-20 question

Pricey, but great stuff.

Rod, Thanks for the reply. Do you prep the surface prior to priming or just scuff it like they say? Picklex-20 seems to be the best solution for me since I'm using electrolysis to "clean" the rust and old paint off my panels now and will epoxy prime them later all at once. Gerard

I take it you are using the Picklex to keep the parts free from rust until such time later on that you can prime them. That's a perfect use of the Picklex and it does a very good job of it. Depending on storage and handling conditions in an unknown interim before priming, you should consider a final cleaning with a wax and grease remover (I use PPG DX330) immediately before priming. Even fingerprints can leave an oily residue that could affect paint adhesion. Here's a very good discussion on various cleaners and their proper use.

That's good information Rod. Thanks. I'm new to painting, but old enough to know I'd better research this before I attempt painting. I think I'll stick with PPG since I've used them before with good results so I will only use their products. I appreciate the input. Gerard
