I bought my 54 NAA from a friend already restored. The color is Red and Tan (almond). I swear I remember seeing Ford tractors this color when when I was young. We go to alot of parades and events and I allways get at least one comment about the color being wrong. What is correct?? or does it really matter?? This color combo is a eye catcher.

Grey tin, red cast.

Different shades of the grey were used over the years.. from light greay.. to a tanish grey.. the red is like vermillion red.. kinda orange ont he later units.

And no.. the paint don't matter... the 134ci engine runs just the same either way.. even if painted a bad paint scheme like yellow and green..

There are alot of opinions as to the correct colors for the early Ford Tractors even among those who restore tractors. Does it matter? If you are a purist it matters, but if you are happy with the color, then be happy and forget what a few others have to say.

If you check the archives of this site you'll find numerous discussions on what color is correct. You can also go to CNH and buy a couple of spray cans of the red and gray and see if it matches what you have. Soom will say even these are not correct. Go to the link below and check out the Q&A section for colors as well as the photos throughout the site. You'll notice the different shades of color.
