They are hard to come by. The Hoyt-Clagwell company went out of business 40 years ago, because Mrs. Hoyt and Mrs. Clagwell couldn't get along. Since then, Hoyt went into the wax fruit business, and Clagwell went to the county seat.

Seriously, here is information from a Green Acres fan site:
On the show, his tractor was a Hoyt-Clagwell. In reality though, his tractor was a Fordson model "F" built from 1917-1926 . This was the first actual tractor built and sold by Henry Ford (Ford Motor Company). It was named "Fordson" because of the involvement of his son in this venture. Ford Motor company was a sponsor of the show, thus his car being a Lincoln, Haney's truck a Model "T",and the Fordson. If you remember the show when Lisa bought Oliver a new tractor, the tractor dealer had all Fords, and I believe the tractor she picked was a Ford 6000 diesel. These were built from 1961-1967. The other tractor used at the beginning of the show start was a John Deere "GP" tractor. The "GP" stood for General Purpose, and these were produced from 1928-1935. The McCormick-Deering tractors were #1 in popularity back when these tractors were built, and John Deere was second in line. The three companies engaged in price battles for sales dominance, in which McCormick-Deering came out on to with Deere second, and Ford finally dropped production of the Fordson "F" in retreat. I would guess that the "GP" was his liking, but because of Ford's sponsorship, the Fordson was a requirement.

my grandfathers brother's father had a hoyt-clagwell on the family farm. according to my cousins nephews he had one of the largest sucotash farms in our area. he bought the H-C in 36-37 and was shipped from the factory unassemmbled it tookabout 14 men 4 months to put it together they were hampered by the fact that no one could read the manual which was written in sanskrit it was equipped with a maime snappero 1/2 bottom plow and mecholimripper picker it was used until the rust shortage of 38 when it was sold to the scrap drive. we believe it was recycled in c ration cans stumpy as every one called him said the hoyt clagwell was worth an arm and leg

Drucker didn't carry the Hoyt-Clagwell. Nearest dealer was in Pixley.

As requested, one photo of the genuine one and only Hoyt-Clagwell tractor. I'll be happy to accept half of the proceeds of said wager as payment for services rendered.

Thanx for the photo..I have it from the Green Acres homepage, too. The premise of the wager is as to whether there was really a HC tractor, or was it just a figment of the script-writers imagination. Somebody on the N-board said they thought it may have actually been a Fordson. As to half the wager...sure, but you'll have to drink it here.....

Tried to get my good buddy Jethro Bodine to invest some of his Uncle Jed's millions in the remaining parts inventory for Hoyt-Clagwell tractors. Told him that they were worth their weight in gold. He wouldn't hear of it, though. Someone had sold him a bridge in Brooklyn and he was eager to errect a toll booth on it.
