LONG 460 hydraulics

I am working on a full fluid change on the 460 I bought as it has been sitting for 12+ years, the manual says I need Exxon Torque Fluid 56 or equivalent for the rear hydraulics, does any one know the equivalent?

I have the speck sheet on the Exxon Torque Fluid 56, to me it sounds like Hydraulic / Transmission fluid.

The fluid also runs the hydraulics and power steering. Universal tractor fluid will work fine. No 90wt or heavy gear oil is used.

Thank you, trying to get all fluids replaced before winter hits now I can drain, replace and check that one off my list. Just got done blowing out and replacing bucket hydraulics.

Just a note that the heavy gear oil is used in the final drives. Did not mention it earlier because you asked about the hydraulic system. Just an FYI post.

Thank you, I know I will have lots of questions regarding my tractor as I am new to all this. I am glad I have this forum, service and parts manuals and the knowledge of the previous to guide me.

No.1 thing with your 460 is to NEVER run it with the PTO Lever in the up or disengage position as it will destroy your engine if you do,only raise it to get the PTO lever engaged and then put it back down. Also my 460 has a separate tank for the Power Steering.
