Worthington G Transmission options

Just throwing this out there: I was thinking of swapping in(eventually)a different, synchro transmission in my 1952 Worthington "G" that has the 8N engine. Was just trying to get away from the O.E. rockcrusher/crash box that's currently in there. Have any of you other Worthington Owners done this "upgrade"?

Thanks for the insights,

Karl in AZ.

I haven't done that conversion but it would be interesting to know what would fit. I would think it wouldn't be to hard to adapt something as the bell housing is not part of the transmission case.

I've done a little research, and I think I found some options that will be a straight swap in(Tremec T176, Borg warner T19, and Borg warner T98). Need to study up a little more, b/c most of the stuff I been reading is regarding ford Truck and other vehicle swaps. Nothing Worthington tractor related(of course).
