Shepard Diesel

I am not a Sheppard Diesel authority but............
It is "Sheppard" still in business in Hanover PA, though tractor manufacturing ended about 1956. Also made a Diesel engine to drop into a Farmall model "M".
A few years ago when Sheppard was featured at the "Steam-O-Rama" tractor show,(Windsor PA maybe closest major tractor show to Hanover PA), there was a lot of Sheppard equipment including the 1,2,3, and 4-cylinder tractors.
Don't understand the details of the Sheppard Diesel injection system, but he had to avoid infringing on existing patents when he built his own system.

Ya from what I can tell he built his first Deisel in 1933 ? And I think he right out of high school and went to Dickensen College . So he was I my opinion very ambitious talent .
Yes I see from tractor data the 56 sd4 had a torque convertor so I wonder how that worked with the 10 speed transmission , pretty interesting .
Depending on speeds very desirable combine with Pto ,

My neighbor does head work and a few years ago he did a Shepard head and said he would never do another. Word got out and he did 2 more. That's all I know about them
