HI, I was looking for some info. on why the power steering fluid could get in the crank case. my long 445 DT has original Borg warner power steering rotary gear pump. the tractor had what looked to be Dexron 3 power steering fluid in it. While working one day the engine lost oil pressure and caused it to spin a bearing. I had the pump tested and there were no leaks.so how did the fluid get in there.the pump currently has a gasket with one large hole that pump gear/coupler goes through and several small holes that I have no idea what they are for unless it lets oil in to the coupler. all that said. I will replace power steering oil with regular hydraulic oil and only fill about 1/3 way full. does anyone have other ideas. [email protected]
