Long 445 hydraulic pump repair

I recently purchased a Long 445 circa 1962 (?) with a number of problems. The power steering pump and the 3 point hitch pump were not working, so I took them off and brought them to a local mechanic, who showed me the internal scoring that had been caused by low hydraulic fluid. The existing pumps were a bit of a Frankenstein and the new pumps that I bought through Jensales fit one part but not another. It seems like I'm missing an essential part to connect the new pumps to the hydraulic system. I've attached a diagram of the hydraulic system from the repair manual and I believe the part I'm looking for is the one between items #6 and #7, and bolts the line to the pump. Anyone know what this part is called and where to get a replacement?

Does anyone have experience working on Long tractors that can help me out with this and future problems? Alternatively, does anyone know of a Long repair shop that I can pay to help me work on the tractor? I'm in Maine but am not restricted to working with someone local.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

If you really want to deal with a parts supplier that knows what they are doing, call Import Tractor up in Canada. If the pump was the right one it would matched right up on your tractor.I have a Long 460 almost the same tractor and several Olivers and Allis Chalmers that are basically the same. Its a Fiat built tractor and overall are tough machines. When you do put the pump back on be sure to clean out the inline filter #38 in the diagram as that is usually stopped up if the hydraulics aren't working and will cause the pump be running dry. They're pretty simple to work on it just sounds like you need to get the right parts.Be glad to answer any questions that I can for you.

Yes, pumps were on the tractor but power steering and 3 point hitch were not working so I took off the pumps. One of the new pumps I can re-attach using the same fittings but other pump did not have the bolt-on connector. I am looking for the bolt-on end of the hydraulic line so I can attach it to my second pump. Thanks for your help.

Many thanks for the suggestion of Import Tractors in Canada. I have sent them an email and will see what I can learn.

Check the filter strainer item #34 This will become restricted causing the pumps to be starved for oil.
