2510 Long noisy transmission

I have a low-hour 1997 Long 2510 4x4, Fiat built tractor I have had for the past year or so. I am well satisfied with the tractor so far. However, when the tractor is idling in gear or in neutral with the clutch out it has a rattling sound coming from the bellhousing. The noise stops when the clutch is depressed. Two stage clutch with a hand lever to activate the PTO. Any ideas?

Remove the inspection plate on right side of clutch housing, two bolts, if I remember right, and have a look and see. Never know, could be something simple.

Probably not related but ALWAYS leave that lever down except when you're putting
the PTO in gear as it will eat up your block and crank if run with it in the up position.

My 460 sounds the same way. Changed fluids, didnt help. I am thinking it is a bearing on the input shaft. Was going to split mine and find out.

Not sure if its the same scenario but I had a 360c. It sounded like it was chewing rocks. I had a guy that bought one new listen to it and he says his sounded like that from day one.
