I recently purchased a Long 445 circa 1962 (?) with a number of problems. The power steering pump and the 3 point hitch pump were not working, so I took them off and brought them to a local mechanic, who showed me the internal scoring that had been caused by low hydraulic fluid. The existing pumps were a bit of a Frankenstein and the new pumps that I bought through Jensales fit one part but not another. It seems like I'm missing an essential part to connect the new pumps to the hydraulic system. I've attached a diagram of the hydraulic system from the repair manual and I believe the part I'm looking for is the one between items #6 and #7, and bolts the line to the pump. Anyone know what this part is called and where to get a replacement?
Does anyone have experience working on Long tractors that can help me out with this and future problems? Alternatively, does anyone know of a Long repair shop that I can pay to help me work on the tractor? I'm in Maine but am not restricted to working with someone local.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
