Satoh distributor

I'm reassembling the engine after doing a valve job and the distributor does not look right to me.

I lined up the dots, set the timing mark on the pulley, etc. When I seat the distributor the rotor is about half way between the terminals for the #1 and #3 plug wires. That doesn't look right to me.

When your tractor is timed to the pointer, where is the rotor pointed ?

Thanks

Greg

From what you say - It could be anywhere
1. find the compression stroke for #1 piston.
2. Turn crank shaft to timing mark if needed.
3. Where ever the rotor points should be #1
I hope that helps.

#3 is what I figured, but was surprised that lining up the timing marks didn't put the rotor in line with the plug wire. Thanks

You guys got all that snow cleaned up yet ? Where have you been putting it ?

Greg

If that is the case, You could move the wires on the cap or pull the dist. to line it up.
I only have 4 to 6' snow banks. The loader and snow blower have kept me going ok. But the cold is taking it's toll.
