I have a 384 Leyland, replace trans-rearend/hydrac do to bad bearing and gears. tractor see out and rain got in housing. I purchased another complete trans/rears, can anyone tell me what type of oil-hydraulic oil to use and were to fill it. I don't know much about the working portion of the 3 point hitch or hydraulics on how to use them. I been reading on, live pto and hydraulic pump disengage. Help needed-I familiar with IH,David Brown, Duetz and JD tractors but never operated and Leyland. [/list]

the owners book calls for the same fluid as the
engine oil, but many guys use transmission
hydraulic fluid to match other tractors in
their fleet if hydraulics are used for large
rams etc...

there should be a filler plug either right in
front of the seat or on the top cover of the
hydraulic unit but the rock shaft ... there
should be a dipstick for trans oil by the gear
shifter...

this website has good help

oj-thanks for info. very helpful. I don't have a shop manual for my 384 Leyland to adjust the clutch and the pto clutch. It is a double clutch set up. Does any one know the free play or procedure in the adjustment of the pto and eng clutchs. Also is there and web sights recommends to learn more on operating and the functions of this tractor 384 Leyland-no cab-perkins diesel
