layland 262 no clutch

A guy i know brought his 262 over to get the pto fixed and then he told me that the clutch wouldnt work. He said that he opened the cover up just a little to look in where the gear shifting is. Could of this messed with somthing?

Leylands have a twin clutch, one disc for wheel drive and a second disc for pto, all in one single unit, it's not unknown for a failed pto clutch to cause all sorts of problems with the main drive clutch... When you pull the top off the bell housing, it will be fairly obvious if it's a clutch problem.
help poke here...
