I'm trying to help a young(ish) man trying to restore a family Gibson D. At some time somebody has replaced the original curved spring and pan seat with an aftermarket seat of some kind. He has a picture of the unit when it was new with a curved flat spring similar to the N fords but taller. Is there out there a small yard or collector with the correct seat and spring?

I don't know if this will help but I measured mine and here are the measurements for you to compare. approx. 5/16 " thick and 2 1/2" wide spring steel. The spring is about 28" long. There are two 1/2" holes approx. 1" from each end. They bolt the spring to the top of rear housing and the other end is parallel to the frame. The seat is about 18" wide.Hope this helps
