I know someone who is thinking about selling a one
family owned 1918 heider model C. The tractor is
mostly complete. Has the side panels. Missing one
fuel tank. Last ran in 1980.

Any idea on what it is worth?

any pictures? prices vary wildly depending on condition, but for complete or near complete here are some recent comps.

Herb Wessels restored and running Heider C brought 17000 a couple of weeks ago.

Last year Buice's C which was running, unrestored but rough looking brought 12500

Kegs C this spring which sounds about like yours brought 8500 Canadian.

Engine with these is HUGE. If its stuck or has engine issues, its going to hurt it. If it has original paint, that can be a big plus if it has visible logos etc.

I'd really liek to see pics and a serial number if there is one for it as I try and keep track of them.

As usual people are afraid to give the general location when talking about things.

It will probably be worth more around Lima, Ohio that it will be in Lima, Peru.

The tractor is located in nebraska. I don't have any photos of it. It was running in 1980 and has been stored inside since. As far as I can tell it is complete except for the one fuel tank. There is no paint left on it anywhere just rust.

The tractor sat in the pasture for decades untill 1980. The owner got it running and drove it seven miles to town(under it's own power) for a parade and then drove it back home under it's own power and put it in his building. It has not moved since. everything was working in 1980. He also has a Case threshing machine he used with the Heider.

The owner is in his 80's wants to sell some of his stuff.None of his kids want it. I think is sad since it's been in the family since it was new.

That is a shame to see a family tractor go. Does he have any original paperwork that goes with it? I'd love to see a copy of original paperwork for onefor the website in my profile. If you get a chance for some pictures I'd love to see it. We have a 1917 12-20 C ourselves, I'd like to find an early 10-20 C or a later 12-20 or 15-27 C with the plow lift or a 9-16 D still.

I'll have to ask if there is any paper work or
manuals for it. They saved everything so it wouldn't
surprise me if they did.

I will check and see if there have a heider plow.
I'm thinking the plow was a Case.

Wouldn't have been marked heider, would hav ebeen marked rock Island if it was bought as a package. If they had a rock Island plow of any type, I'd be extremely interested in it.

Just an up date. There is no plow for it. I was told he is wanting $25,000!!!! I'm guessing it will stay in his shed for a while.

a 3-4 years ago; very good condition, complete, running ones could bring 20-25K so he was already the extreme high end for a really good tractor. based on the prices recently, it looks like the markets not there right now. There are alot more Heiders out there than people realize, and I think the number for sale the last few years plus the economy has started to have an effect. I'd still like to see pics etc of it, but I doubt he'll get too many takers.

I've only seen cell phone pics on his sons phone.
All the wood parts need replaced. Not a bit of
original paint on it. All the engine parts are there
and all the friction drive parts. It is only missing
the left fuel tank.
