The 34 Plymoth needs a generator that is not belt driven but rather bolts into the engine. Can anyone fill me in on what generator I am looking for,Autolite Delco, what model or part no.? Any info you can offer will help. We are trying to make this old gem original. I haven't looked at the way the generator is hooked up but my buddy says it is driven off the cam. or something.

I was told this morning that the Plymouth tractors
were all hand cranked and didn't have a generator.
He said some of the Silver Kings had electric start and generators. Here's Norman's phone number that has a restored Plymouth tractor. Hal

Glad to hear of another Plymouth! What's your serial number? I'm up to close to 70 still in exsistance. Do you think your tractor was originally electric start or had been converted with early Silver King Parts? Nearly all Plymouth were originally hand crank however there were a few that I have factory pics showing electric start. I believe you can count on 1 hand how many were electric. If you shoot me an email with some pics of your tractor, along with a pic of the right side of the bell housing I should be able to identify if its a legit factory electric tractor or a converted tractor with SK parts. If its factory it will also have the correct hole pattern for headlights on the side of the grille. I know lots of people with Plymouths including myself so please contact me and I'll see if I can help you. Is your tractor a 38" or 44". If its in the first 2/3s of production there will be a letter A or B before the serial number that will tell you that. Look forward to hearing from you!
