Long 560 starter

I'm having some trouble getting the starter to turn. Sounds like a dead battery....a click and the starter engages and turns just a fraction and stops then it'll just click and engage or just click. I've tried 2 different batteries. 2 different battery chargers thinking I had a dead batt or bad charger. Nothin. Cleaned connections to the starter and the ground to the block. Same thing. If I turn the key on and jump the solenoid still won't turn. Am I missing something ? Is the started bad? Thanks, Tom

My 610 got to where it was like I had a weak battery, slow cranking. I changed battery and same. Ordered one of the cheap starters off Amazon and it cranked better than it ever had in 20 yrs I have had it.
