Hercules Engine Block

What is the difference between a Hercules engine block -- 1XB3 block (2409552) and a 1XK3 block (275515)? I also need a good service tech book on the engines or specs. Thanks for your help.

The blocks are the same, except for the bore. IXK has 3 1/8 bore & IXB is 3 1/4 bore. you may find a IT manual for B F Avery or MM model BF's should work.

Don't know about the 4s, but do know in some of Hercs 6cyl series the outside dimensions and mountings were the same, so any upgrade to a larger CID in the series for more power or downgrade for lower fuel consumption would bre a drop-in fit.
