Transmission Gears

On my BF Avery A the transmission gears are stuck on the shaft, and they will not slide forward or back. Does anyone have any suggestions on getting them to move? I have freed up the forks and rails already. I am inside a shop and would prefer not to use heat.
 
If you have the cover off the side of the transmission, you need to use sandpaper on the shafts that the gears side on. Once the shafts are clean up, you will have to work the gears foward or back, so they are on the clean part. Do not use heat. Once you have all three shafts cleaned up, cover them with never seeze so they will not rust again. Also make sure to replace the rubber around the gear shift leaver to prevent any more water entering the transmission.
