Bombardier MPV-20 hydraulic system

I have a MPV-20 that has been running great for 10 years and the hydraulic system just went on it. The local John Deere I bought it from used, is estimating over $5,000 just in labor to replace the system if we can find the parts.

Has anyone replaced the hydraulic system on one of these and if so, does this estimate sound correct?

My alternative is to just sell the tractor for parts including the 60" inch mower deck, plow and loader. I just put new front turf tires on it that we're very expensive.

Have you done some good troubleshooting ?
What if it was something as simple as a loose
fitting,(internal), or a failed coupling ?

Yes, the internal drive that powers the hydraulic pump has seized up. To replace it (if we can find another one) the engine has to be pulled out according to the mechanic.
