My B.F. Avery has a forked housing single front wheel. What is the secret to removing the bolt or pin that holds the wheel on the fork. I need to remove the wheel so I can replace the tire. |

| Hold one side of the bolt, and loosen the other side. They are normal right hand threads. Jack up front end of tractor and just drive the axel out with a brass drift, or something that won"t damage it. They normally don"t drive too hard unless they have been damaged or are rusted. |

| It's been years now but I had that same problem. Seems I remember hacksawing the axle shaft, it's just mild steel. Bought a new bolt of the correct diameter (pretty big-sized bolt) and had a machine shop thread one end after cutting it to length. I remember working on that axle forever trying to get it out of the cast hub and finally resorted to the hack saw. |
