snappin turtle mower

I have a snappin turtle mower, model 2 1/4 91 100, serial no. A70196. Anyone have an idea about it's age. It's complete (except for the engine). Has turtle head with remnants of original red paint with most of original green paint on body. Has left discharge port with aluminum cover and apparently original blade complete with replaceable cutting tips. Must have been put away after only a certain amount of use and just sat.
Any way I'd like to post pics of it but not sure how or how many are allowed. I have 41 pics (multiples of ID tag out of focus).

I have never seen production figures for Snapper productsas to year of manufacture.

If the original engine is still on the mower, the engine can often be dated through its model/type/serial/code numbers.

OK, I'm not sure where my pics went so, below is the link to a thread on SMOKSTAK with the pictures of my Snappin' turtle. OH, on the second page.

I've got a couple of them. I also have a few original owner's manuals and parts manuals from Snapper. My "Snappin'Turtle" manual #56 is dated March 3, 1965. Came in two models - ST19 and ST25. They were available with these engines: Briggs & Stratton model 6, Clinton model 900, Kohler model K90, Clinton model 1200, Wisconsin model AKN, and Kohler model K160. Options included a ride-behind sulky, roller, airator, and leaf mulcher.

Sorry about the pics, I don't use this forum very much and aren't sure how to do things. Les

LJD, Is there a way I can get copies of the manuals you have? More than happy to pay for them. Scanned images are OK, I can assemble them into a doc.

Yes, I just sent you a manual at half-size in JPGs.
