i have a minneapolis moline that has been painted several times .the top coat is a green ,like an oliver .there is a yellow underneath . the tractor looks like a minneapolis bf , but every bf has a narrow front end . i did find a picture of an avery r , that looks identical to it. there is no identifying letters on it other than an mm on the guages .

when MM bought the B.F. Avery company, they already had an"R"series in their line. To avoid duplication they changed to the "BF" designation. The BF was available as a regular double wheel tricycle type, a wide front or a single front wheel.

so are there different colored bf"s because of this ? i saw one painted as an avery ,but it looks identical to mine that has no red paint on it .

there is bit of uncertainty about the colors. some yellow tractors have red beneath the yellow and there are those that have been painted the wrong color because the owner wanted it that color. Mine was as a 1951 MM BF and correctly painted Prarire Gold with factory decals.

it appears to be praire gold under the green ,I was just curious because i saw one identical to it that was avery red.Just wondering why that one was differant? It seems like a lot of money to restore a tractor and paint it the wrong color.
