1944 Silver King 42

Have a restoration project that needs water pump and radiator. Has Hercules motor. Can you get these parts new or remanf., and from where? Also, are they remaking the banjo steering wheel?

Hello! Below is a link to the place that has the correct new steering wheel your tractor will take. If you have the original that needs just simply recovered, they will also recover your original. Will save you money that way. I have had them recover several wheels before, great work! As for the radiator, you won"t be able to find new or remaned ones, you will just have to have yours rebuilt. The water pump can also be easily rebuilt, as parts for them shouldn"t be hard for any water pump rebuilding shop to get. There might be a place that would have remaned water pumps, but can"t tell you for sure where that would be. Good Luck on your project!

Thanks for the reply. I have used Minn-Kota before, forgot about them actually. Have question about rear tires. This SK is a 1944 with the old style fenders, has 38's on the back with the large cupped centers, but most all the pictures I see with the old style fenders have the smaller 28's (??? gessing at size) and trators with the 38's have the clam shell type fenders. Any thoughts ??

Either wheel/fender combination would be correct. The rear wheel size 28" or 38" were optional so you could get them with whichever you wanted, but the squared older style fenders were used on the tractor until about 1947 and then around 1948 they switched to the clam shell. So your tractor would be correct with its current setup.

I agree with jfred, but would like to add some info.

I have a model 340 silver king. It has the model 41 Continental 162 engine. It still has the original cast iron center, steel rims with 36 inch rubber. It also has the flat/early style fenders.

It was sold new at the Silver King/Case dealer in Springport, Mich.

I just had the pump reworked on mine. My local napa store sent it out for me cost 110 dollars shipping and all. I was happy with the work. Place was in iowa that did the work. I also had my rad re-cored at a ocal shop, not as cheap as the pump lol. Have fun with it they are neat tractors.
