I have a 2 clylinder vertical wisconsin engine. Pistons move together, Head # is AB-100B block number is M 287 and BA54A(I believe)Head gasket is CD613-6. Pistons are L 1180 (030) Assuming it is .30 over.

I am trying to find parts to overhaul and put it on my log splitter.

Please let me know as well as where to find parts.

Wisconsin Air Cooled engines is still making
engines as Wisconsin Continental, a division pf
Teledyne. They made 5 model of 2 cylinder engines
as follows:
TE: 3 inch bore,X 3-1/4 inch stroke
TF: 3-1/2X 3-1/4
TH: 3-1/4 X 3-1/4 Replaced TE & TF
THD 3-1/4 X 3-1/4 "Heavy Duty" TH
TJD 3-1/4 X 3 Replaced THD
The letter D in the model number indicates a
"Heavy Duty" engine that has Stellite valves, and
hardened valve seats-desireable for unleaded gas.
The TJD had pistons that don"t go up and down
togather, for smoother running. All other models
have pistons that go up and down togather, but
they are out of phase such that when one is on a
power stroke the other in on an intake stroke.
If your pistons run togather, then you don"t have
a (late model) TJD.To determine model, if the
nameplate is missing, you"ll have to measure the bore. All models have replaceable valve seats, so
without a name/model plate it"s impossible to
tell if you"ve got a "D" model.
Parts are still available from Wisconsin Motors,
but they price them as if they"re gold plated.
Their Distributors are listed at the website
www.wisconsinmotors.com. You can also download
a free parts manual there. I suggest that you get
an "Owners and parts manual" There are about 100
listed in e-bay under "Wisconsin owners Manual"
or "Wisconsin engine Parts",or at this, Y/T web
site, go to the upper left corner and click on
"Manuals". Wisconsin"s are under Miscellanous.
I repair Wisconsin engines, and have 11, not for
sale engines and 5, for sale, parts engines. I
get most of my parts from NAPA Auto Parts. Here
are some numbers:
Carb. Kit: 2-1565..FITS ALL 2 CYL CARBS.
Head Gasket: NAPA/Fel-Pro # 7623-S
Full Gasket Set: NAPA/Fel-Pro # FS-7623-S
Fuel Pump: NAPA # M73012, fuel pump rebuild kit
are no longer available-anyplace, unless you find
one "old stock" The NAPA pump costs "About" $45,
the number is a "Federal-Mogul" number, and some
other sources may use the same number.
Pistons and valves are available from NAPA, and
Wisconsin. Pray that your auto parts store has a
experianced parts man. Hot Rod places, like
O"Reileys usually won"t have Wiscinsin Parts.
You"ll need a place that sells farm and industry.
Magneto Parts, Coils, Caps, Points, Condensers,
are still available. Y/T sells them, as do Mag.
rebuilders such as "Branson Enterprises". You
go by the Magneto make,(Wico or Fairbanks-Morse)
and model number, from your magneto nametag.
If you have a distributer...god help you..most
distributer caps and points, are now obsolete.
Good Luck!
I have a woodsplitter with a 2 Cyl Wis. Engine,
but this post is getting long, so i"ll post again
with some tips on that

Well "Dick" at Carquest is really good and thinks he can get the stuff I need. Question Do the rods have bearing or do I have to replace the whole rod? I have one that is kinds beat up and not sure if I should trust putting money into it if the rod could destroy the crank.

thanks

Newer THD and TJD models have replaceable, insert
rod bearings. All others are babbit bearings.
I "Might" have 1 or 2 connecting rods, I'll check
and answer here. It will take a day or so to
move thing around to get to the "Parts" box

I have to differ on your statement that the pistons (on TJD) do not go up and down together 'for smoother running'. On an inline two-cylinder (four-stroke) engine, they can only be even-firing if they move up and down together. See John Deere two-cylinders, since they all moved up and down oppositely, and you all know how they sound.
Look at a Honda twin and they move together, nice and smooth. Makes timing easy, you can use either cylinder.
