Hello.. I am still looking for a throttle spring for a late style Silver King 3 wheeler..a few years back someone had a batch made up; but i can"t find my old notes anymore.. I know you can play around with various springs as I have done on these in the past but it sure would be nice to have the right one... If I had access to an original to get specs I may make up a batch to sell.. My 2nd question is does anyone know who made the sickle bar mowers that mounted on the rear hitch of the late style 3 wheelers? I have seen factory photos showing them but didn"t know who made them or if anything was close enough to adapt? Thanks!

There is a silverking show this weekend i am going to,might be able to get measurements there. My experience with silverking springs is they appear to be homemade.Talked to fellow who said thats because they made their own springs rather than buy them.My guess is you have a coninential engine,so a spring for that engine might be what they used.

Thanks Larry! Any help would be appreciated..(I think I met you years ago at a show)...It is a 1948 3 wheeler with a continental.. If I knew the wire diameter, number of turns, and diameter of coil I could probably come up with something close... If my memory serves me correct the original spring had a diameter of about and 3/4" and the coil was about 3/4" long... the spring was one solid piece from the arm all the way to the carb... It would be nice to figure it out so you could move it to the various settings on the arm for various RPM selections...I have had a love for the Silver Kings since I was a kid..Thanks!

My modle 42 is Missing the same spring. I have tried watching youtube videos to catch a look at one so I could make one but havent had much luck. I was going to go do a guess and check to get something close. I made a rod to go from the throttel linkage to a spring and then to the carb. Never imagined it was all one spring. I am also looking for a radiator for my SK. Over the 30 years that it sat on the side of a feild, somebody managed a bullet to go sideways through it.

Hello Ethan.. I have a 3 wheeler that is in real rough shape but the radiator may be useable... I will check it out better when I get a chance.. I live near Erie, PA.

I was going to see about getting it recored when funds were availible. I live in westport NY (near lake champlain) If we could work something out with shipping yours may be an option. This has been a great project. Being that it is the only Silver king I have ever seen first hand has made it all the more interesting figureing out what is missing.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Frank Ousley of Plymouth, OH is the one who is currently selling the original type throttle springs for the model 42 tractors. Phone #419-687-6241
