N62 Valve Adjustment

I was trying to adjust the valves on the continental n62, and I am having a heck of a time figuring it out. I am used to jds that have a nut and a screw to set the valves. I can't figure this n62 out. What/how are you supposed to adjust the thing? Any tricks (other than having thin wrenches)?

Thanks.

You should place your request over on the MH forum as this engine was used on their Pony tractor. The AC G also used this engine. Hal

Hi Pat, you'll need a set of thin tappet wrenches, just no way around it. its best to do them per the firing order (1-3-4-2) and after your thur check them again.

I figured as much. To tappet wrenchville I go.

Once I get them, I can't seem to figure out how to acutally get them to stay since it seems like there is the little part on top (that hits the valve) that screws into the middle piece that then scews into the actual lifters. What am I missing?

Thanks.

If you haven't gotten advice by now, the illus in a 50 Motor Manual shows the tappet screw screws into a lock nut which in turn screws into the lifter body (lifter "barrel").
Can try shooting and emailing pic if helpful.
If already figured out no reply necessary.
