I have purchased a used 1994 Magnatrac Hydro-5000 that needs lots of help. Has anyone rebuilt/restored one of these crawlers? I have experience with restoring old tractors but no experience with a crawler. The Kohler engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced, depending on cost. What would be the best approach? I need to remove the loader assembly from the crawler and I'm not sure how much of a job that is. If anyone has any info, please let me know.

I think there are some websites out there for these crawlers maybe even a club that could help you out. Check on YouTube as well I have seen videos of them and you could ask people on there as well. As far as the motor goes most of the time engines like that are cheaper to replace then rebuild. Depends on whats wrong with it.
 
Yes Yahoo groups has a good forum for those. Lots of pictures and fellas having worked on them. Go to www.yahoogroups.com/Struck ??? Something will come up to pick from.
 
Do you have any idea how much one of these tractors are worth? I have one that"s probably from the 1970"s and need to sell it.
