Silver King year?

This is a Model 42 with no tag, and I find no holes where a tag would have been attached, and no stamped numbers that I can find. It has the cast iron front hood, "squared" fenders(not the rounded clamshell ones), and evidence of headlights being on the front(one cast iron bracket is attached). It has 38 inch rears. What range of years might this have been mfd.? Thanks, Bob

One of the silverking websites has been updated with data about when some changes were made. Sometimes you can get casting dates off the engine which can help. My guess late 1940 to the end of 1942. I have a 46 book that shows the screen front and 38" tires.

My Silver King has serial number 5339 and a model 41 engine. The advertising brochure shows it to be a model 340 tractor. Some serial number lists say it was built in 1942, but when I traced the ownership back to the orginal owner, I found it was sold new in 1941. It has the cast iron grill, flat fenders and 36 inch rear wheels.

I have a 1942 model #42 on the manafold. and a book with the numbers made for each year, I have small rear wheels but all else matches your description.
