earthmaster tractor model c

how does the steering wheel on my earthmaster model c come off? it appears to have a key way but don't budge. Also is a steering wheel available. Guess who destroyed the steering wheel that I have?

The steering wheel has a keyway in it for the woodruff key to fit. Mine was very tough to get off and I finally put an air chisel against the base of it and let it hammer the wheel loose. The steering wheel for an M or MT John Deere is a good replacemment except it does not have covered spokes and is slightly shorter on the center hub. El Toro is right. If you don't use heat you'll probably be waisting you time. Some times it takes a few times of heating it up and letting it cool off then heat it back up again. PB Blaster or something like it seems to help a lot (or you like to think it does). Next step is small sledge hammer of air hammer. My Farmall "M" was so stuck I ended of cutting a chunk out of it with a air grinder so i could get it off. Needed a new one,but got it off. Hope you have better LUCK!! Have fun..
