FWIW: I've got a note that a Maytag tractor was at least proposed and apparently at least a prototype built in 1916 by a Maytag Company, in Newton Iowa. Size shows as a 12-25 with a 4cyl unidentified Wauk; none of my parts catalogs that go back that far back show any Maytag. Source was either I&T history Vol I (1916-25) or Wendel's Ency Am'cn Farm Tr'trs, both out of local library. One (maybe both) were doubtful about any real production.

There were a lot of tractors being built around
that period of time and WW1 was about to start. They even had a Wisconsin tractor too. I don't think they were ever put into production. Hal
PS: Here's a picture of the WI tractor. The quality of the picture isn't too good.

That's an interesting pic: there was a Wisconsin tractor in production, according to those tractor references. Roughly 1917/18 thru 21/23 (these references often don't completely agree)but those listed sounded larger, the smallest being a 14-25 with a 41/4x53/4 Wauk (1000rpm). The largest was a 22-40/45 with a Climax51/2x7 (800rpm). But I neglected to note the factory location. I wonder if the one in the pic could be another "Wisconsin" that never got into production, a smaller model that just wasn't listed (the ref's don't claim to be complete) or a scaled down dealer display model??? Besides the Wauks and Climax's, a few apparently had Beaver (LeRoi) engines, but I'm not familiar with any of them, so can't hazard a guess as to what engine is in the one in the pic.
