I saw a tractor at a local pull a few years ago that was built like a lehr and had a straight 8 engine . Does anyone know what brand that was?

Chances R did your custom come with the 8 cylinder or has it been put in,if so what did it come out of,is it a flat head or is the valves in the head? I have lehr that came with a 230 but has been replaced with a 250.

Its my understanding that the Custom came out with both 6 and 8 cylinders. I was told that there was about 10 of the 8 cylinders made, but they didnt go over very well with the farmers do to the gas consumpstion. I bought this tractor like it is. I have seen the motors though in drag lines, cars, and welders. It is a flat head Chrysler.
We also have a Lehr. They are also a very nice tractor.

I would think it was a crysler engine, and the tractor a custom or wards or one of several names they were sold under.

I can,t remember what the name was but it was odd sounding. It was built on the chassis like you are talking about though. That thing was untouched and out pulled all the stroked out pullers that night.
