Looking for information on a White 2-110. I am not familiar with this model at all. Where there any glaring weak links on these tractors and what would be a reasonable price for one in excellent shape with around 3000 hours. Also, whose motor was put in this model and how long before overhaul needed generally? Thanks for any info you can give, found one for $14,900 in Ohio.

greneraly the 2-110 is a good tracor 6000+ hrs on the engien should not be a problem if taken cair of. The week link in the 2-110 is the rear defferential. Beleive it or not the 105 and 110 are only 1855 rear ends. 1955 had a heavier one. Why I do not know. I was very supprised to learn this. I don't hear of too much trouble, but if you pull it hard the potential is there at or around 4,000 to 5,000 hrs depending how it was used. Make sure the bolts are tight where the rear hub is attached to the axle they tend to come loose over time and if run loose ruin the axle. I check ours yearly or more often if carring heavy loads or duals. Over all a very nice tractor. Good luck.

I'll vouch for the axle problem. In app. 1980 or 81 we had it happen to a 105, in early May, in the middle of the field, with about 400 gal of Treflan mix in the saddle tanks, and a thunderstorm brewing up. We were able to get it tight enough to get to the road, before it sunk in the mud. We were soaked, muddy and pissed.

Next day Dad made the trip to Omaha to get a new axle for it.

I'll differ on the engine quality though. The Perkins is about the hardest starting engine there is when cold. We hated it. Currently own a 100 with the Cummins, and really like that.

Probably had a bad injector spray pattern or two, or a loss in compression. I would pick the Perkins as among the better starting engines in cold weather, and I'm talking about 0 degrees cold. Assuming the preheating element in the intake manifold was working, and motor was healthy, they start great. I hate to use ether (although it does work) and prefer Oliver's Thermostart device. I've heard people condemn the Oliver/Waukesha engines for being hard to start when cold. We've never had a problem. When it gets cold, run the preheat sequence for 45 seconds, then crank engine over with fuel stop out approx. 6-8 revolutions to draw warm air into cylinders. Then run preheat cycle another 30 seconds or so and start engine. Generally speaking, below freezing we run the 2 preheat cycles and above just one.

Duane W The 2-110 is basically an updated 2-105 such color change from black chassis to silver gray and side console shift +5hp increase both equiped with 6-354 turbo enginges that will go to7500hrs is serviced properly. Also one of the better 110hp tractors I have had good luck with both turning 120hp plus with out any problems if you watch the heat gage. good luck Terry Clubb

For 14,900 it must be sharp
They used the Perkins 6.354 DOT 4 engine
Weaknesses Read the op manual and there are very few
