Working on the 1550 seat The torsion bars are good, the shock absorber is shot and I have ordered a new one. The seat frame doesnt move, Ive been soaking the joints and no movement. I think it should move up and down. The parts book shows 2 bushings but how do you get it apart? I took the 3 bolts out of the right side but couldnt get anything to move. Suggestions?

This is the good seat on the other tractor.

Ive been soaking it down with diesel fuel and ATF and this morning I used a pry bar on it and it broke free. Ill keep soaking it and working it with the pry bar and it should be ok.

Where did you pour it then? I've got one froze up. I got it out of the scrap yard when I got that wide front that I put under my 1600. I put that seat on it after the rubber springs went bad on the original early style.

Under the seat where to frame meets the torsion bar and the front rod that adjusts the seat tilt. Come from the back with 2 pry bars and pry seat up and stand on seat to get it down. Soak and repeat till you can't climb on to the platform and quit for the day. Come back tomorrow and do it again and then the next day until it moves free, or maybe the day after that. It's a very slow process and messy.
