hi everyone, i'm the guy with a mongrel oliver. the chasis is a 1600 and the engine is a diesel for a 1650. i have the repair manual for the 1600 but not the 1650. i'm going to get a 1650 repair manual but i'm in a crunch now. need torque, placement and torque sequence for the head bolts if any can help. i also have an extra oliver 1600 repair manual which cover gas, propane and diesel models. for the cost of shipping its yours. in anyones opinion where is a good place to buy a manual for the 1650?

hi, thanks for the info. on the tightening sequence can you explain a little more about it? i thought it usually goes from the middle out to the ends. don't exactly understand what your sequence is. and is the torquing in gradual tightenings like in three steps or two steps?

I actually googled what l posted. They didn't have an image of the procedure and l gave my manuel away. Were it me, I'd start in the center and work my out as you said. If you used 4 or five stages. 25, 50, etc. there should be no problem. I always run 2 or 3 times on the final/last number. There generally seems to be a couple slow learners A lot of guys advocate warming it up and rechecking. I don't do that but it sure can't hurt. That's how l do it. gm

Interesting Oliver 1600 setup. Can I ask where you got the tractor? I am looking for a family 1600 with that same engine setup. The one I am looking for was narrow front and sold in Nebraska in 2010. Serial number 142943.
Thanks and good luck with your repairs.

hi, i bought this tractor from a veggie farmer here in conn.. this one has a wide front end and it cost 4500. i should have known
when i ordered a pto shaft for it and it was way wrong. the decal on the tractor is 1650 but after eventually getting in contact with
the floyd museum i found out that by serial number it is actually a 1600. the pto shaft for the 1650 was longer than the 1600 so not
knowing, i sent it back. the big assume was that since the tractor was a 1600 that the engine is also, wrong. i just ordered a
repair manual for a 1650. if you have need of a 1600 repair manual, i have an extra.
