770 wide front

Somebody please refresh my memory. On a 770 wide front with manual steering, did the steering gearbox come off or
was it built right on like the narrow fronts on Fleetlines? I believe the 770 wide front with power steering came
off if I'm remembering right, just couldn't remember on the manual steer.

I had a few minutes last night, so for the heck of it, I checked Agcopartsbook like I should have done in the first
place. They show 770 and 880 having a removable power and manual steering unit.

I just wondered because I know a guy looking for one for his 770 and I know where there's one from an 1800. I think they'd be interchangeable.

I just took another look. It does show a serial number split for the narrow front though. Looks like early narrow
front 770s were built on, later ones were separate, so he'd have to have a later one to use an 1800 wide front. An
early one with the box built on the narrow front, he'd need a wide front from a Fleetline or Super.
