Hi:

I was looking at a 1650 and with help from this group I worked out a deal for the tractor.

Thanks for the help.

Now I have to move it to our place. The tractor will not run until I can do some work. So, will the tractor steer without engine power?

Thanks

Not very good. I have pulled an 1850 not running and its
difficult but you can turn a little. I wouldnt try to tow
down the road.

Do you have another tractor with a 3pt quick hitch? I've hauled them down the road by chaining to the front axle
and up over the hook on the quick hitch. Lift the front end off the ground and go.

Hi:

Thanks, that it will turn with brute force is good to know. I like the 3pth idea. I need to see if I have access to one.

I towed one 3 miles once. It took about 4 hours, countless stops to correct steering using a large pole with a two pronged fork at
one end to grab a front wheel and lever it in the right direction. I was exhausted, kids were crying. Wife wanted to kill me. If you
load it on a trailer , and I strongly recommend that you do. Build yourself a 10 foot long lever pole to correct the steering as you
get it on a trailer.

Hi alberta dave:

Thanks. This i assume is because the steering is hydraulic and will not respond.

Hi:

Success. Using the information here and adapting as needed I was successful in towing the tractor to my place. Now I need to find out what it needs to see if it will run. As I progress I will have more questions. For now

Thanks for the help.
