Oliver 440 engine rebuild

Hello everyone, I am overhauling my Oliver 440 motor and have run into a problem. While trying to re-install the crankshaft timing gear with the camshaft gear it states to center the single punch mark on the crankshaft gear to the double punch mark on the camshaft gear. Simple enough however there are TWO punch marks on the crankshaft gear on separate teeth? Since I have another F-140 engine I had disassembled earlier for parts I notice the crankshaft gear on that engine also has two different punch marks. Which one do I use? anyone ever run into this dilemma? I have the IT manual however it does not address the two punch marks. Any help would be appreciated.

If you look at them with a magnifying glass do they look the same? Is one off center a little or look like it's odd in any way? I've never seen one with two makes like that. Wonder if someone hit it with something.

He cam gear might have marks for a magneto gear in addition to
the crankshaft gear. They just arent used with distributor ignition.
