Do I have a problem?

Trying to fix/update stuff. Found spring compressed by the High Speed Load Adjustment screw. Took spring out and screwed screw until it bottomed out in main jet. Whoa! Bottom of thumb head is just below the cast iron and just a hint of space under the head from bottoming out in the countersink hole.

High Speed Load Adjustment screw measures 3 1/4" from tip to top of thumb head.

Turned out by the manual 3 1/4 turns. Won't without being choked. Started turning out 1 full turn until it ran without the choke. Tried mowing and it seems starving for gas. So, I turn screw out until it ran great - 11 1/4 turns out. Is this right?

Ain't no way any spring would work for the load screw.

Impossible to set by the manual. Original spring completely collapsed and screw not bottom out in main jet. New spring completely collapsed and screw not bottom out in main jet.

How would you go about setting the screw 3 1/4 turns out when you can't bottom screw out in main jet?

Again, manual 3 1/4 turns out. I have 11 1/4 turns out for tractor to run as it should.

Can't get picture to show - so copied.
"High speed load is approximately correct when screw is out 3 1/4 turns."

Sent pictures to Randy.

I'm wondering if I have the correct screw or correct main jet. How can there be 8 full turns more than the manual?
