What info from Model Number

Hi:

I am looking at a tractor listed as a 1650. There is no markings on the sheet metal and it does not look right to me. The serial tag is quite damaged but from what I can see the model info is 265 42126 and serial number starts with 19 and ends with 468 or 463.

What information can be gleamed from this information?

Thanks

Re: the model number 265 is a 2nd generation 1650.

This following is taken from a B.A. Starr post:

Numbers after the dash:

First#:
1=Dual front
2=Adjustable front
3=Single front wheel
4=Wheatland
5=Utility
6=Rice
7=Industrial
8=Mechanical Front wheel drive, AG
9=Mechanical Front drive Industrial.

Second#: 1=Gas engine, 2=Diesel engine & 3=LP engine. Last three numbers are the combination of all combinations that was installed on the production line. Those number records no longer exist, there was almost 999 combinations.

Last three in Serial Number (bottom row): Are numbers for the powertrain for a 1650. 452= standard speed 2 wheel drive Row Crop 456=High speed 2 wheel drive Row Crop & High speed Wheatland/Ricefield 468=Standard speed Wheatland / Ricefield 461=Standard speed Mechanical Front Drive 465=High speed Mechanical Front Drive 480=Hydraulic front drive.

Hi scootergmc:

Thanks for the details. Yes, it is a diesel with wheatland front axle. The serial number starting with 19 implies a tractor from 1967. Can I say that? The last 3 digits of serial number then are 468 for transmission. Ok, making progress. The 265 from the model number, is that unique for 1650 tractors?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, 265 is specific for the 1650. I think it's safe to say you're looking at [i:56d660c2b0]what left the factory as[/i:56d660c2b0] a 1967 diesel wheatland with the standard wheatland speed transmission.

Does it have a hydra power or hydraul? I think 1967 was the year the hydraul was introduced. If it's online and you can post a link we can probably tell you more.

prch, scootergmc gave you good information. If you can find the engine serial number, the Floyd County Museum can find your tractor serial number and send you a build card. The cost is more for working from the engine number, I think it is about $40.

Hi scootergmc:

Ok, so the unit is definitely 1650. It does have hydra power which is why I was looking at it.

Hi John:

Thanks for that information. No pictures posted.
