Would it fit?

Its not like I need another repair project but I have seen a running diesel engine advertised not to far away from me from an Oliver 88. I have my wife's old 1650 that has been sitting since engine failure an almost still intact sitting in the corner of the yard. Is the block in an 88 similar enough to work in our 1650? It would be handy to have another summer tractor for raking and pulling water tank around.

I'll let somebody else confirm, but I think it'd be a direct bolt up with the possible exception of the throttle linkage maybe. I remember being at an auction just over west of me not too long ago where there was one that most were speculating had a Super 88 engine in it. Air cleaner inlet on the intake manifold might be smaller.
