1650 Hydraulic Top Cover

What is the trick to removing the hydraulic top cover for a
1650? I have the seat and all bolts/nuts removed on the cover.
Have tried loosening with a hammer, chisel, etc. to pop the
cover...no luck. I?d rather not beat on it much harder than I
have already..

Did you get the two long ones on either side of the filter cannister? If so,they can still be a bugger. The oil pan is between the cover and the rear end housing. There's two dowels. One comes up so the pan slides up over it,the other one goes down and will hold the pan down. You'll have to work the one down so the pan stays on the tractor,or work the other one up so the pan comes up with the cover.

Do you mean the whole hydraulic unit or just the top containing the remote valves? I used an old wood chisel ground to a thinner wedge. Lay the flat side on machined surface of the unit and tap with a hammer, a little at a time working all the way around. Patience is key. Once the gasket starts to separate it get easier.
